Travel agencies join the “Eyes Everywhere” campaign
The Colombian Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies – ANATO has joined the “Eyes Everywhere” campaign, led by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, the ICBF, and the Tourism Police, among other entities.
The president of the association, Paula Cortés Calle, stated that the travel agencies affiliated with ANATO are committed to the campaign, which is part of the program to combat the commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents associated with travel and tourism.
“We want all travel agents to lend their eyes and be vigilant so that no situations occur that allow our children’s rights to be violated. We remind them that they must include in their code of ethics their commitment to fight against this type of behavior, train their staff on the subject, and inform clients—through their websites, institutional brochures, and in-person sales—about their policies to combat this kind of exploitation, as well as the corresponding sanctions,” said Paula Cortés Calle.
She also reminded that, in order to register or renew the National Tourism Registry (RNT), tourism service providers are required to adhere to the code of conduct.
